We have a dedicated in-house solicitor, who has prepared a suite of legal agreements specifically to be used in respect of wind farm developments.

It is vital for all developments to secure the right to develop the land at any early stage, and to be able to take a lease of the land following planning consent. This is usually achieved by way of an Option Agreement, attached to which is an agreed form lease (which will be entered into prior to construction of the wind farm).

We can oversee the Option Lease negotiations from start to finish.

We are able to carry out all of the usual legal searches, and issue a Report on Title, to highlight any matters of concern and suggest ways of dealing with them.

Having an in-house resource means that we are able to concentrate on securing the developer’s rights as quickly as possible, leaving the developer to focus on pushing the scheme forward, rather than getting stuck in protracted legal negotiations, which are usually costly and time consuming.

In addition, we have experience of managing the planning appeal process. Our in-house solicitor is able to instruct Counsel on behalf of clients and to steer projects through Planning Inquiry.
