The Renewables Obligation has been in place since 2002, and has stimulated the growth in the deployment of renewable energy seen since that time. However, it has not encouraged growth in small-scale low-carbon electricity generation, which is an area the Government has been keen to promote as part of its programme to tackle the problems associated with climate change.
The Government has announced a package, known as a Feed In Tariff, to promote the development of small-scale renewable energy projects of up to five megawatts, with the greatest level of support being given to the smallest projects of up to around 500 kilowatts.
Our team is ideally placed to assist in developing small scale wind energy projects – we have been involved in many successful single turbine projects.
We are able to offer a whole range of services, from feasibility studies – is your site suitable for a wind turbine? – right through to preparing the planning application, guiding the project to a successful determination and overseeing the construction of the project.
Please get in touch to discuss your project.
